Course Overview
This course will cover the eminent legal issues of the Oil and Gas industry with
regards to HSE regulations and standards. This program will cover the relevant regulations specific to the industry and legal issues that are faced by O&G operators in maintaining compliance with safety standards. This will also present controversial occurrences, accidents, and incidents pertaining to the failure of meeting HSE standards, and the legal implications that companies had to face in the aftermath.
The focus of this course will be on how the legal segment of the company can
better support, protect, and ensure that operations are in compliance at all times to safety standards and regulations and avoid future potential litigations. Various case studies and examples will be discussed such as the major cases of Texas City Refinery Explosion, Macondo Drilling Blowout, Deep Horizon Oil Spill and many more.
