The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC) covers the principles relating to Health and Safety, identi-fication and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge.

The International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:

Management of international health and safety (IGC1)
  • Understanding of the foundations of OHS
  • Application of Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures
  • Understanding the impact of safety culture on OHS
  • Understanding of permit to work systems
  • Management and control of workplace hazards
  • Explain the importance of monitoring and review of OHS systems
