National Industrial Training Institute

Overview

Believing in the importance of developing the human resources, which is one of the most important factors for institutions’ success, the Institute has been keen to establish short technical courses in the disciplines it offers, which targeting administrative staff, engineers and technicians in the oil and gas sector.

Course Overview

Falls are the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industries and also
one of the most common causes in the Oil & Gas industries. Most fatalities occur when employees fall from open-sided floors and through floor openings. Falls from as little as 4 to 6 feet can cause serious lost-time accidents and even
death. Fall protection systems can consist of devices that arrest a free fall or devices that restrain a worker in a position to prevent a fall from occurring.
Open-sided floors and platforms 6 feet or more in height must be guarded using an engineering control. This course will provide clear examples of the proper and improper ways to deal with fall hazards based on the industrial and construction activities conducted at heights.

Who Should Attend?

This course is essential for those who design work or work settings and those
who oversee safety when implementing the designs of jobs conducted at
heights to prevent fall hazards.
