Course Overview

Hazardous material handling (HAZMAT) is a course that has been designed to
introduce and effectively educate participants on how to properly deal with all the materials or substances that pose a danger to life, property, or the environment if improperly stored, shipped or handled. Working environment includes a number of hazardous materials, and in order to minimize the risk of hazardous materials, personnel should know how to recognize the presence of hazardous material, and understand the requirements of transporting HAZMAT materials as per the international and local standards. A recognized international standard is the (Department of Transportation) DOT. The (National Fire Protection Association) NFPA is another recognized international standard. The course will also cover the proper procedures on how to properly store the hazard-ous materials and further extract the information from the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). The course will also highlight methods and procedures on how to control a spill in case of occurrence and proper steps in evacuation and emergency response.

during an emergency situation.
