Developing a World Class Model of Training Excellence

NITI’s Technical Training stems from over 70 years of Saudi Aramco’s Vocational Training legacy coupled with the latest TUV Germany & international advances in the field. NITI intends to train and qualify young Saudis in order to meet the market & industry needs, contribute to community growth, help reduce unemployment and support Saudization efforts.

NITI offers industrial training mainly to industrial colleges and high school graduates to qualify them to work in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Energy and Construction industries. These programs are divided into two major categories: academic and technical programs. The academic programs consist mainly of instructions in English language, math, science and clerical skills.

Training Methodology

NITI’s Technical Training stems from over 70 years of Saudi Aramco’s Vocational Training legacy coupled with the latest TUV Germany & international advances in the field Instructional methods provide encouragement, challenges, and learning opportunities for all enrolled students, taking into consideration different learning abilities and styles, prior levels of achievement, and different learning modalities such as visual, audio, and kinesthetic.

Both Academic and Job Skills apply the Learner Centered Teaching Approach, however in the Academic section NITI has adopted the Saudi Aramco’s Smart Learning Environment (SLE) program, called Performance-based English Curriculum (PEC), which relies heavily on technology utilization in and outside the classroom.Trainees are provided with iPads instead of books.

Our Curriculum

For academic programs, NITI uses Saudi Aramco curricula (PEC) that they developed to better meet the needs of their Saudi Aramco trainees at NITI. For customized programs, Oxford Headway Series textbooks are used. For technical programs, TUV, Germany, delivers five (5) long term programs based on the Saudi Aramco Curriculum. Field Metals Mechanic, Mechanical Maintenance Machinist, Maintenance Electrician, Process Control Systems Technician, Basic Operator and Refinery Operator. TUV develops the curricula material in alignment with Saudi Aramco terminal objectives with each course subject to the approval of Saudi Aramco to these TUV developed programs. Two-year programs with the first year mainly Academic; (English, Math, Science, Clerical, Computer, Safety, Co-Curricular Programs & Extra-Curricular Activities) and the second Vocational/Technical Training.

NITI's Equipment

NITI is using a state of the art technology for its Academic & Technical instructional delivery. NITI has set up smart classrooms & workshops equipped with smart interactive projectors and boards where each trainee is given an iPad by NITI, besides having learning supported by on-line libraries & resources that are accessible 24/7. NITI’s job skills workshops are equipped with the latest machines and simulators for all technical specialties where trainees can do hands on performance tasks.

ELearning

Blended Learning deploying latest technology of Smart Projectors, Smart Boards, Apple TVs and each Trainee is given an iPad. Textbooks and training material have been uploaded into iPads and regularly updated.

NITI's Extra-curricular Activities

NITI Al-Hasa Complex contains a Mosque and a Diner with a capacity for 1,000 each, a Library with digital features, Recreational Facilities with a fully equipped Gym, a Soccer Field with marked Tracks, an Olympic Swimming Pool, Outdoor & In-door play fields and Games.

Advisory Services

Trainee Affairs Unit advisors follow up to make sure trainees behavior and conduct meets NITI requirement. In case it doesn’t, TAU advisors will conduct counseling and coaching sessions so that trainees will conduct themselves professionally. Also they advise about their attendance and academic performance.

Safety, Health & Environment

Along with NITI’s training programs are its dedicated efforts to assure the health and safety of its people & assets. NITI serves its employees and trainees through continuous wellness programs, state-of-the-art health facilities and designated medical facilities.

NITI’s commitment to safety is of critical significance. The mission of the Safety, Health & environment Division is to ensure the safety of NITI employees and trainees, as well as institute’s assets, by identifying hazards, controlling risks and educating and motivating the institute’s personnel and trainees to work and live safely. It encourages environmental awareness and care through planned programs that cater for recycling, water & power conservation, supporting green & natural features and careful disposal of waste.

NITI's Workshops

NITI Technical Training is run by (TUV) a renowned German company. TUV has 60 workshops that are furnished with the latest, cutting edge equipment.

NITI 60 workshops are dedicated to Metals Mechanic programs, Welding programs, Electrical programs, Machinist programs, Instrumentation programs, Electronic/Telecommunication Technician programs, Survey Technician programs and construction related programs.

NITI workshops are equipped with cutting edge technology simulators that support operational training courses. These include 2 BOC Simulators and 2 DCS simulators.

Could you elaborate more on NITI Technical Training?

NITI ITP, TUV handles the Technical Training that has 59 workshops. Main disciplines include: Operations Training, Maintenance Crafts as Electrical, Instrument Technician, Welding, Mechanical, Pipefitting, Metals, Lab Technician, Communication, etc. besides Driver Training, Heavy Equipment, Hydrocarbon Truck Driving Certification, as well as Safety, Fire Training and customized programs per Customer’s request. NITI is providing technical certification as well.

NITI's Classes

NITI has set up 149 smart classrooms equipped with smart interactive projectors and boards where each trainee is given an iPad by NITI, besides having learning supported by on-line libraries & resources that are accessible 24/7.

Various levels of: Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced English Programs; 3 main Math Programs: Core that branches out to: Industrial Math, Business & Accounting + Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Calculus; Science that includes Chemistry & Physics up to Advanced Levels, Clerical Training from Keyboarding to Computer Training and Office Management. NITI is using a state of the art technology for its Academic & Technical instructional delivery.

Tests Center

NITI managed to establish four testing rooms with a capacity of 45 each, these testing rooms were equipped with CCTV cameras, cubicles, and computers for the online testing.

Library

NITI is working on establishing a Library to provide information resources and technology-based learning that promotes self-development and professional growth. Resources will be available in books, DVDS, CD-ROMS, videos, journals and online databases to all NITI enrollees and staff. The library will be provided with an automated loan system which enables users to view the library catalogue, order books, renew their borrowed materials or view latest additions to the library.

Computer Labs

To encourage an environment of smart learning (SLE), NITI has prepared 6 computer labs equipped with 36 computers each. Soft English and technical programs have been installed in those computers to help blended learning.
